A Walk in the Woods
A Walk in the Woods
Early autumn is a wonderful time to explore the forest. The air feels cool and fresh, and the woods are quiet and peaceful. As soon as you step onto a narrow path, the noise of the city is left behind. The only sounds around are birds chirping high in the trees and a small stream flowing somewhere nearby. It is the kind of silence that feels alive.
The forest is slowly beginning to change. Some trees are still covered with lush green leaves, while others are already turning yellow and red. A dry leaf or a small stick on the ground feels light and breaks easily between your fingers. Everything is soft, colourful, and a little bit damp from the morning mist.
After a few minutes, the path leads to a shallow stream. The water is so clear that every smooth stone at the bottom is easy to see. Sunlight shines through the branches, making the surface look sparkling and fresh. On the other side of the stream, a steep hill rises up, covered with dense bushes and tangled vines. It looks a bit wild, but it has its own kind of beauty.
A little further along, there is a lovely shady spot under a big old tree. Its bark is rough and dark, with patches of soft green moss growing on one side. Around the tree, the ground is covered with bright green grass, and here and there you can find a few acorns, a pine cone, or an empty shell left by some small creature. A single grey feather rests on the ground nearby, probably dropped by a bird earlier that morning. Everything feels calm and untouched.
As the sun begins to go down, the woods become cooler and a little misty. The valley stretches out ahead, with rolling hills slowly disappearing into the soft evening air. It is hard to leave a place like this. It is still wild, still quiet, and completely alive.
