Moving into a new flat
Moving into a new flat
Last weekend I moved into a new flat. There were boxes everywhere. But I had a plan.
I started with the living room. First, I took out the curtains. They are long and grey. I hung them on the window. The window looked much better. Next, I put a rug on the floor in front of the sofa. It is soft and warm. I like walking on it.
Then I took two cushions out of a box. One is blue, one is yellow. I put them on the sofa. They are very comfortable. On the wall, I hung a mirror. It is round and big. Next to it, I put a clock. It is white with black numbers. Now I can always see what time it is.
I put a shelf on the wall. On the shelf, I placed a photo frame with a picture of my family. Next to it, I put a vase. It is made of glass. I want to put flowers in it. I also put a candle on the shelf. It smells like vanilla. In the corner, I put a lamp. It gives warm light in the evening. Under the table, I put a wastepaper bin for old papers.
Then I went to the bedroom. I put a laundry basket in the corner. I put my dirty clothes there. I also put clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Now my shirts and dresses hang straight.
At the end of the day, the flat was clean and tidy. I sat on the sofa and looked around. I saw my rug, my cushions, my mirror, my clock, my photo frame, my vase, my candle, my lamp, my wastepaper bin, my laundry basket and my clothes hangers. Everything was in its place. I smiled. Now this is my home.
