Strong adjectives (сильные прилагательные)
В английском языке есть сильные прилагательные, которые уже содержат значение «очень».
Их нельзя усиливать словами very, really, extremely — вместо них используются absolutely, completely, totally, utterly.
cold (холодный) → freezing
hungry (голодный) → starving
tasty (вкусный) → delicious
funny (смешной) → hilarious
beautiful (красивый) → gorgeous
good (хороший) → fantastic
big (большой) → huge
tired (уставший) → exhausted
interesting (интересный) → fascinating
dirty (грязный) → filthy
hot (жаркий) → boiling
small (маленький) → tiny
sure (уверенный) → certain
