Say vs Tell

Глаголы say и tell часто путают, потому что оба означают «сказать».

Главное правило:
• Say + что-то (слова, фразы). Нельзя сказать «say someone». Если нужен человек — используйте say TO someone.
• Tell + кого-то (человека). Tell me, tell him, tell her — без to.

✅ He said hello. (не указано, кому)
✅ He said hello TO me. (человек есть, но через TO)
✅ He told me a secret. (человек сразу после tell, без TO)
✖️ He said me hello. — грубая ошибка
✖️ He told to me a secret. — тоже ошибка (лишний to)

С tell используются: the truth, a lie, a story, a secret, the time, the difference, someone's name.
